The above Unimax Basic Security Services course is listed in the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority (SGSIA) recognized course register under the Quality Assurance System (QAS). Training is delivered by professionally qualified instructors and assessors.
Anyone who intends to work in the security industry must first complete the required number of hours in an approved security training course. According to the standards under the “Criteria for the Issue of a Security Personnel Permit”, applicants must obtain a Security Personnel Permit (SPP) in order to officially work as a security guard.
The course mainly covers the role and general duties of a security guard, including professional conduct and ethics, uniforms and equipment, legal responsibilities and relevant laws, occupational safety and health, and customer service etiquette.
We welcome anyone aged 18 or above who is interested in joining the security industry. Participants must have the ability to read and write Chinese.
Yes. Under the Security and Guarding Services Ordinance (Cap. 460), all security personnel or building caretakers must hold a Security Personnel Permit (SPP) (commonly known as the “Blue Card”) issued by the Commissioner of Police in order to become a qualified security guard and perform paid security duties. Therefore, to become a qualified security guard, you must enroll in a security training course and obtain the QASRS Security Certificate.
Yes. The QASRS Basic Security Services Certificate (Qualifications Framework Level 1) course is suitable for anyone who wishes to enter the security industry. After completing the training and passing the assessment, participants will be awarded the QASRS Security Certificate, which qualifies them to apply for a Security Personnel Permit.

Security personnel are not police officers, and therefore their legal powers are the same as ordinary citizens. However, while ensuring personal safety, when encountering suspicious persons or witnessing a crime (such as robbery, malicious damage, or assault), they may use the minimum necessary force to detain a suspect and immediately call the police for assistance.
Unless specially authorized, security personnel are not allowed to carry any weapons, including firearms or batons. These duty scopes are explained in detail in our QASRS security training course.

No. The QASRS Security Certificate is valid for 5 years.
If you change to another organization/employer, you will need to retake the QASRS course. Otherwise, you do not need to retake the course.
